Our mission is ‘to advance knowledge and cultivate leaders for China and the world’. For over twenty years Tsinghua University School of Economics and Management has been growing fast along with the reform, opening-up and development of the Chinese economy.
Today we continue to strive to build a world-class school of economics and management and benefit from the synergy of bringing these two academic disciplines into one institution. The School is committed to the excellence of both research and teaching for the purpose of advancing knowledge and educating leaders, and cherishes ideas and theories, at the same time as valuing practical solutions and actions.
Combining Chinese roots with global reach, the School works to contribute to the development of China’s economy and society as well as to make an impact in the world.

Founded in 1999, the China Business Case Center of Tsinghua SEM is the first professional institution in mainland China that is dedicated to the development of management case studies.
Our mission is to gather business intelligence, promote the case method, and contribute to a better understanding of Chinese management practices. Over the years, the center has developed over 400 cases in both Chinese and English, covering a wide range of business disciplines including accounting and control, finance, strategy, human resource, marketing, and entrepreneurship.
In 2009, the former senior vice dean of Harvard Business School, Professor F. Warren McFarlan, was appointed as the co-director of the case center. Cases in our collection are now used widely in MBA, EMBA and Executive Education programs both in China and other countries around the globe.
The Tsinghua SEM China Business Case Center Case Collection contains hundreds of cases and teaching notes in both English and Chinese.
The collection spans a wide range of academic disciplines and contributes to a better understanding of the Chinese business environment as well as the management practice of Chinese companies (including both private and state-owned enterprises).
These cases are suitable for MBA, EMBA and Executive Education programs.
Disciplines featured in the collection include:
