This workbook focuses on three international companies in the automotive manufacturing industry. The industry write-up gives an overview of the industry; growth development, as well as cost cutting measures with response to the prevailing economic situation. Similarly, the company write-ups are a general overview of the history and business segments within each company. A brief description of various accounting ratios (sub-divided into five main categories) and its formula are included to be calculated for each of the companies, using the respective financial statements provided as exhibits. The objective of this workbook is for the user to analyse the accounting ratios calculated. The analysis can be done on a year to year as well as company to company comparison. These analyses will be based on the nature of the accounting ratios.
