The European Case Awards have been presented by ecch annually since 1991. They recognise and celebrate the success of the authors and institutions of cases that have achieved the highest rates of growth in popularity worldwide. Jeffrey Gray, Director of ecch, commented, "Although a number of authors' names continue to appear in the Case Awards lists from time to time, it is most encouraging to see the presence of new names of both authors and institutions featuring each year ? a clear indication of the continuing growth in high quality case writing across a wide range of institutions".

Vincent Dessain, Executive Director of Harvard Business School's Europe Research Center, has been invited to present the 2005 awards at a special dinner at Maison de la Recherche in Paris on Tuesday 6 September. The Dean of INSEAD, Gabriel Hawawini, himself a winner in the Finance, Accounting and Control category this year, will, on behalf of INSEAD, also accept The Sumantra Ghoshal Award for Excellence in Case Writing, presented to the institution at which the overall winning case was authored.
