Europe's top business management graduates to compete at Oxford
'Case challenge' for 16 top business schools to take place 1-3 April 2005 - UK and Irish participants are Cranfield School of Management, London Business School, Said Business School, Oxford, University College, Dublin and Warwick Business School.
The highly prestigious Case Challenge is to be held again this year after a seven year gap and will become a biennial event in the European business calendar. The first challenge was held in 1998 and was won by students from the Said Business School, University of Oxford. As will happen with future events, the winning business school will be invited to host the following event; therefore the 2005 challenge will take place over the weekend of 1 to 3 April at the Said Business School. It will be keenly competed for by 16 of Europe's premier business schools and universities where case study learning is a prime teaching tool.
Over an intensive working weekend these 16 teams of six students will tackle a specially developed fieldwork based case study to reach a shortlist of five teams. A presentation by these teams to a distinguished panel of judges will decide the outright winner. In addition three awards will be presented to teams demonstrating outstanding analysis of issues incorporated within the case.
The winning business school will hold the trophy and have the honour of hosting this prestige event in 2007. As well as the trophy, the six participants in the winning team for 2005 will share a special cash prize of EUR6000.
ecch is organising the event. Its director, Jeffrey Gray, expects the competition to be keen. "This is a unique opportunity for these top business schools to match themselves against the best in Europe. Participating students will have the perfect stage to display their talents to observers from a range of potential top employers. All participants will benefit, with those on the winning teams adding an accolade that will help them progress in their business careers".
