About Graduate School of Management (GSOM), St. Petersburg State University
The School of Management at St. Petersburg State University was established in 1993. As part of the National Priority Project in Education The Graduate School of Management (GSOM) was set up in 2005. Since the 1990s, the case method has been actively used by faculty in the teaching process.
The mission of GSOM is to create a world-class Russian business school aimed at educating and advancing the national managerial elite to be able to meet the challenges of increasing the country's competitiveness in the 'knowledge economy' of the 21st century.
GSOM's portfolio includes Bachelor and Master degree programs, PhD, Executive MBA and executive education programs. All pre-experienced master degree programs are delivered in English in accordance with the ECTS standards.
The Graduate School of Management has gained international recognition, unprecedented for a Russian business school, through prestigious international accreditation and memberships - CEMS (Master Programs), AMBA (Executive MBA), EPAS (Bachelor Program), PIM.
GSOM is Russia's leading producer of business cases and teaching notes which are available in both Russian and English. The cases are designed to help business students and executives improve their abilities to analyze information, think strategically and make critical managerial decisions.
About GSOM Case Development Center
GSOM Case Development Center was established in 2006 and facilitates development of innovative business education technologies and faculty advanced training. It integrates GSOM innovative teaching techniques into the international business education development process.
With more than 200 cases in our collection, GSOM is now the largest producer of case studies in Russia and a founder of the Russian Case Study Center. GSOM cases in Russian are distributed via the Russian Case Study Center website, while those translated into English are distributed via ecch.
About the GSOM case collection
GSOM faculty members have written over 200 cases. Most cases are available both in Russian and English and the majority are supplemented by teaching notes. Over 100 of those cases and teaching notes are published through ecch. The cases are tailored to the portfolio of GSOM programs on the undergraduate, graduate, and post-graduate levels.
GSOM cases cover a number of issues in the following areas: Branding and Marketing, Strategic Management, Change Management, HR and Organizational Behavior, IT Management, Finance, Knowledge Management, Entrepreneurship, Business Ethics, etc. All cases have been tested in the classroom. The majority of cases are based on field research, the rest are based on consulting experience, as well as on published sources.
