Can anyone submit a case to ecch?
Yes, we welcome cases from any individual or organisation. However, we have a duty of care to our members and customers to ensure a high quality of teaching materials in our catalogue.
Are submitted cases reviewed?
We register, in good faith, all cases correctly submitted, although in some circumstances we reserve the right to question suitability. There is no panel of referees. It is a requirement that cases be comprehensively tested in the classroom before they are submitted. Details of where and when this took place, and in what context, must be provided on the case registration form. Cases are designed for teaching and the end user is the final judge of how successful a case is.
Does ecch ever refuse, withdraw or retire cases?
We register, in good faith, all cases correctly submitted. Cases are occasionally withdrawn at the request of the author or the author's institution. We do not actively retire cases but the advanced search form allows you to specify the time period in which a case was published eg after 2000.
How do I register a case?
We aim to make case registration a straightforward process. To register a case you must complete a registration form and provide a copy of the case in the appropriate format along with any supporting documentation (eg case release form).
Will I receive royalties on case sales?
Our member organisations receive royalties on sales of multiple copies of cases authored by their staff or affiliates. However, we cannot pay royalties to individual authors.
Can I translate a case?
Permission from the copyright holder(s) must be obtained before a case may be translated. We are able to liaise with case authors and authoring institutions to request translation permissions.
Can I adapt a case?
Permission from the copyright holder(s) must be obtained before a case may be adapted. We are able to liaise with case authors and authoring institutions to request permission.
Does ecch provide any case writing scholarships?
Yes, each year we provide up to ten Philip Law case development scholarships to research students. The scholarships aim to stimulate new case authors and strengthen the role of original research in student management learning.
Are there any case writing competitions?
There are a variety of case writing competitions run by different organisations. Details are available on our website. |
