Background to workshop
This practical workshop is for teachers who are using, or thinking of using, case studies in their classes. An experienced case teacher will show how the real world can be brought alive in the classroom by the astute selection and use of case studies and will work with participants to develop practical skills in preparation and delivery.

Programme
The two days will have a practical focus including:
- Case evaluation and selection and its role in the success of the class
- Understanding case content and how to bring it alive
- Preparing for the case class and defining outcomes
- Customising the case analysis and adding to the case
- Understanding and practising the discussion process with feedback
- Exploring the practicalities of different approaches
- Learning how to enhance the student experience
- Matching cases to different learning environments
Workshop objectives
Case teachers will become more effective and will:
- Identify variations in case quality and suitability
- See for themselves how to go beyond case content and bring it alive
- Learn to engage students in cooperative thinking and problem solving
- Understand case discussion and leveraging practical implementation
- Know how to let students learn from real situations in the classroom
