Translation permission requests
Obtaining permission
Permission from the copyright holder(s) must be obtained before a case may be translated. ecch is able to liaise with case authors and authoring institutions to request translation permissions.
Guidelines
Many of the case publishers have different policies for case translations but a few general guidelines are outlined below:
- The English language version must be translated in to the requested language in an accurate, complete and professional manner.
- The case must not be modified or condensed (including footnotes and exhibits) as part of the translation, except with the permission of the copyright holder(s).
- The translation must not be sold or distributed outside the organisation who received the translation permission.
- Copyright of the translated version remains with the original copyright holder(s).
- An electronic version of the final translation must be provided to ecch.
