About CASE
Founded in 1976, The CASE Association has been committed for more than 30 years to developing and refining the case writing skills of its members through a system of round-table review at its annual conference. These annual round-table sessions have been augmented by workshops and other unique programs devoted to improving their craft.
Throughout its history, CASE has recognized the need to foster the development and use of case studies and research at all levels of academia, not just the leading case based business schools. CASE has continued to make a point of encouraging new case writers as well as experienced case writers to share their experiences and cases. CASE continues to act as a base for helping newer case writers to gain experience and expertise so that their efforts may be rewarded, published, and shared with others outside their own schools.
Although CASE meets as a regional association (northeast United States), members are affiliated with academic institutions around the world.
About the CASE Journal
In 2004, CASE founded The CASE Journal (TCJ), a peer reviewed semiannual on-line journal which publishes high quality teaching cases, exercises, and articles about case research, writing, reviewing, and teaching. All cases have associated detailed teaching notes that make for easy use. All items published in TCJ are available through ecch.
CASE takes pride in its developmental review process which is both in-depth and timely. Its mentoring approach extends to providing faculty the opportunity to work with senior case instructors and case writers and to learn from experts through a variety of programs, both individual and in groups.
